Macy’s offers a monthly beauty box for $15 per month. If you would like to sign up you can click here to join the waitlist.
Let me just start this by saying I had been a subscriber of the Macy’s Beauty Box for about a year before I decided to cancel in 2018 I believe it was. When I saw they were reinstating their boxes with a Jo Malone parternship I immediately jumped on the waitlist!
There was a bit of drama with this now, as most of you may know from trying to get this box, that even though people got off the waitlist, when the box went “on sale” many received emails saying the box was out of stock. Then they received an order confirmation. Others then got another cancellation, but those who were lucky had the box show up (like me!). I am super excited, as someone who hasn’t had the chance to try out many Jo Malone products but have heard so much about them, to get samples of their products here!
Up first we have the colognes, which consisted of 0.3 ml travel sizes of the English Pear & Freesia and the Peony & Blush Suede, and a sample of the Blackberry & Bay scent.
I loved the English Pear & Freesia scent, it was subtly sweat but also refreshing smelling. Peony and Blush Suede reminded me of a cashmere sweater, it is a very adult and mature scent and it’s definitely one of their most popular ones! Lastly, I absolutely loved the Blackberry and Bay scent, I wish we got more of it! It’s very tart you can definitely get the blackberry from it, and it reminds me of something I that can’t quite put my finger on.
Next is the lotion sample, Wood Sage & Sea Salt Body Creme. I was delightfully surprised by this. I don’t get much of the “wood sage” smell, but this salty notes makes this smell like a beach resort! I feel like I should be by the ocean when I use this and it reminds me of the last resort vacation my family took. It melts easily into the skin without feeling sticky, all in all a great sample!
Lime Basil & Mandarin Body & Hand Wash came next. The first time a smelled this I thought “oh no”, it was definitely not a scent I would choose. Then I realized this was more of a soap and I started to really like it! It smells like it belongs in your shower routine!
The last product was a candle. Jo Malone is famous for their candles and a full-size one retails for around $69!. The scent of this one was Nectarine Blossom & Honey, its a cute mini candle that smells fruity and florally. Its a great summer scent (too bad this box is in the fall!).
I can’t forget this came with a Jo Malone makeup/travel bag. I took a picture of how the box was when I opened it, the products didn’t actually come in the bag. Rather they came wrapped in pink tissue paper with the bag in plastic in the box. It was pretty strange, I was expecting the products to come in the bag so it was a bit weird to unwrap.
This box also came with a $5 Macy’s coupon to use when you buy beauty products- which for a $15 box it adds a little extra value! They say the value of all the samples is $90, which is great value again for the cost of the box. I thought all the products were hits, and it was so nice to try products that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to try out from a super popular brand. I really hope Macy’s continues to collab with brands and release boxes with high-end samples like this!
